Envoys LED KITS

 

Envoys LED KITS are Alternatives for CONVENTIONAL Road Traffic Signal Lights with its numerous advantages. These sub-assemblies have been designed for conversion of Incandescent Bulb signals with LED signal modules, which directly operate for AC mains supply.

Design Considerations:
The Envoys modules employ a specially designed circuit, which provides features hitherto not possible with incandescent lamps.
1. The power supply board uses a highly efficient switching supply, which gives constant current to LED chain over a very wide range of Input voltage variations.
2. The circuit has following salient inbuilt features
i. Low voltage cut-off
ii. Protection against overload and short circuit
iii. Over temperature shutdown and automatic re-start
iv. No supply to LED kit in case of failure of switching circuit.
v. Full wave circuit at Input with MOV for better power factor and EMI/EMC stability
3. In case of any failure of a Single LED the loss in output Intensity is minmum. Typically, a failure in one series element will result less than 2% loss in output intensity.

GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS

1.HOUSING: Fabricated from die molded black polycarbonate. Sealed environment and climatic proof unit with sealed lense. Conforming to international standards and Industry practices.

2. OPTICAL SYSTEM:
LED illuminated optical plate comprising of 5-mm dia ultra bright LED's, spaced at a pitch of 15 mm in an organized matrix. Green /Amber / Red color (also available with pedestrian signs walk – don't walk, arrow - ball type).

3.Working Supply: 85 ~ 250 Volts A.C. Supply, 50 ~ 60 Hz. or 9 ~ 30 V DC as per choice

4. CONSTRUCTION: LED's are soldered in Glass Epoxy PCB.
The LED's are operated in a multi channel series/parallel matrix and are operated from a switching converter with constant output current. Maximum visible brightness is obtained at minimum POWER consumption. The electronic circuit is built in the unit itself, with clear lens for protection in a sealed beam type plastic housing ( diffused lens also available )

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The ENVOYS LED KIT convinces with its bright and homogenous light distribution. The LED's are evenly Arranged and grouped in parallel chains on the LED board. In front of each led plate there is lens that protects it from outside dust. The light passes through the tinted or plain lens (as per customer choice) front lens, which is precisely harmonized with the LED Wavelength. This system creates a very homogeneous lit aspect surface, and by using filter (optional) the individual LED's are no longer Perceived as dots o/p intensity is reduced by a fraction. Also comes with auto dimmer, which further reduces the power consumption in night time (optional).

LED VS LIGHT BULBS

Light bulbs produce light over a wide spectrum, with only a small fraction Being visible light, the remainder is heat. This inefficiency is eliminated with LED’s. LED's produce monochrome radiant in the visible spectrum, thus saving energy, which would normally be used as heat.

MAJOR PROBLEM IN CITIES IS ELECTRICITY, & IT'S CONSUMPTION INCANDESCENT LAMPS HAVE COMPARATIVELY LOW LIFE AND NEED MAINTENANCE IN SOME OF THE ASIAN & AFRICAN COUNTRIES POWER CUTS ARE VERY FREQUENT, WHICH LEADS TO TRAFFIC JAM AS UPS (UNINTERRUPTED POWER SUPPLIES) SYSTEM / SOLAR BASED SYSTEM ARE UNECONOMICAL FOR INCANDESCENT LAMP BASED TRAFFIC SIGNALS DUE TO HEAVY ELECTRIC CONSUMPTION, WHERE AS IN LED BASED TRAFFIC SIGNALS IT IS POSSIBLE AND VERY EASY. JUST BY REPLACING BULBS FROM SIGNAL HEAD'S IN THE CROSSING WITH ENVOYS LED KITS, NOW THE TOTAL CONSUMPTION OF CROSSING INCLUDING ENVOYS TRAFFIC CONTROLLER IS LESS THAN 0.2 KVA FROM 2.0 KVA Thus SOLAR System's can be installed, LEADING TO CONTINUOUS RUNNING OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS IN CASE OF NO ELECTRICITY.

NOTE: Power consumption is taking in account for Envoys traffic control model emtc –4.20 having basic facilities and 50 signal head aspect in a typical crossing wattage of intersection may vary depending upon facilities and quantity of signals head aspect.
